Spalio 18 d. posėdžiavo Lietuvos sportininkų pasirengimo ir dalyvavimo XXXI olimpinėse žaidynėse programos „Rio 2016“ įgyvendinimo ekspertų komisija, kuriai vadovauja Lietuvos olimpinio sporto centro direktorius Linas Tubelis. Ekspertai svarstė sporto federacijų pateiktas kandidatūras į Lietuvos olimpinės rinktinės kandidatų Rio de Žaneiro olimpinėms žaidynėms sąrašą 2014 metams. Federacijos ir savivaldybės pateikė beveik pusantro šimto kandidatų.

Spalio 21 dieną Lietuvos olimpinės rinktinės kandidatų į Rio de Žaneiro olimpines žaidynes sąrašą svarstė LTOK vasaros olimpinių sporto šakų komisija, kuriai vadovauja LTOK generalinis sekretorius Valentinas Paketūras. Posėdyje dalyvavę federacijų vadovai pritarė sąrašo projektui su nedideliais pataisymais. Dar kartą šią savaitę rinksis ekspertų komisija.
On 31 May, on the International Children’s day occasion, laureates of three-artistic competitions have been awarded by Lithuanian NOC. Commission submitted 400 photos and 14 finalists were selected for award of “Olympic photo”. The largest amount of submitted works had the competition “Olympic picture” and “Sport and me” more than 3000 for each – 15 and 16 laureates have been awarded accordingly.
The gifts and diplomas were given to young participants by LNOC President Daina Gudzineviciute, Secretary-General Valentinas Paketuras and the Beijing Olympic vice-champion Edvinas Krungolcas.
On 28 May, Lithuanian President of NOC Daina Gudzinevičiūtė and Estonian President of NOC Neinaras Seli signed the agreement on cooperation between the Olympic Committees of Lithuania and Estonia. Both Presidents expressed their satisfaction with successful cooperation and agreed to strengthen it.

On May 13 Lithuanian NOC signed the agreement on cooperation with Macedonian Olympic Committee.
On 8th May, Mrs. Daina Gudzineviciute, president of Lithuanian National Olympic Committee met with Mr. Jonathan Mannie (left), chairman of Education Committee of Professional Golf Associations of Europe and Mr. Rolandas Dovidaitis, president of Lithuanian Golf Federation. Discussion focused on the development of golf sport in Lithuania and the best examples in the World.
Present and former presidents and secretary generals of Estonian (ENOC), Latvian (LOC) and Lithuanian (LNOC) National Olympic Committees met on 19—20 April in Joniskis, Lithuania. During non-formal meeting the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by ENOC Vice-president Toomas Tonise, LOC President Aldonis Vrublevskis and LNOC President Daina Gudzineviciute.
This cooperation will mainly be carried out through the enhancement of relationships and co-operation in the development of the Olympic Sport Movement and the encouragement of respective National Sport Federations to foster cooperation in all sport areas – to exchange human recourses, to use sport infrastructure, to organize sport event and etc.
The sculpture entitled “The Archer" went to swimmer Rūta Meilutytė, the Lithuanian Athlete of the Year. In 2012, she became Olympic champion at the London Olympics (100m breaststroke), World champion (25m) and the European record holder.
On 9th January 2013, at the festive evening held in the conference hall of “Karolina" hotel in Vilnius, the Parliamentary speaker Vydas Gedvilas presented the “The Archer" to swimmer Rūta Meilutyte.
With almost 13249 votes the 15- year- old athlete was awarded with the traditional LNOC prize, sculpture entitled “The Archer". The second with almost 4445 votes was London’s Olympic champion pentathlete Laura Asadauskaite. While the third place went to canoeist Jevgenij Shuklin (with 2757 votes), who won silver in London.
London‘s Olympic champion swimmer Ruta Meilutyte was elected Lithuanian Athlete of the Year for 2012. She gathered 13 249 votes and surpassed another champion pentathele Laura Asadauskaite (4445 votes) and silver medallist canoeist Jevgenij Shuklin (2757).
The official organizers of The Athlete of the Year and The Team of the Year elections are Lithuanian National Olympic Committee, Department of Physical Education and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Lottery „Olifeja“ and daily newspaper „ Lietuvos Rytas“.
On 10th of December the President of European Softball Federation Andre van Overbeek and the President of Lithuanian Beisball federation Vidmantas Vasiliauskas visited Lithuanian National Olympic Committee and met the LNOC Lithuanian National Olympic Committee Vice-president Romualdas Bakutis and Lithuanian National Olympic Committee Director of International relations department Vaida Masalskyte. The conversation was focused on the development of softball in Europe and the future of baseball and softball as Olympic sport games.

Daina Gudzineviciute, the newly elected president of the Lithuanian NOC, accompanied by Arvydas Juozaitis, LNOC Vice-President, on 30 October 2012 paid an official visit to the quarters of the Latvian Olympic Committee in Riga. The newly elected leaders were received by Mr Aldons Vrublevskis, LOC president, Mr Zorzs Tikmers, Secretary general, Mr Einars Fogelis , Vice- President and Honorary president Vilnis Baltins.

The topics covered included Olympic activities, elite athlete development, youth programmes and Olympic education. Among other thinga, they have also visited Latvian Olympians club and held discussion with Uljana Semjonova, president Latvian Olympians Social Foundation. As symbol of friendship the guests put their signatures in the Latvian Olympic Committee Honorary book.
