Lithuania in the Olympic Festival
Lithuania was represented by 14 athletes who participated in biathlon, skiing, Alpine skiing, and figure skating events.
Following a 12-year break, our country’s delegation finally managed to return home with a medal. The silver medal was won by biathlete Gabrielė Leščinskaitė who placed 2nd in the 10 km race.
Cross-country skier Stepanas Terentjevas, brother of Irina Terentjeva who had won Lithuania’s first medal at the 2001 European Winter Olympic Days, was 27th in the 10 km race.
