Lithuania in the Olympic Days

The Lithuanian delegation consisted of 36 athletes who competed in track and field athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, judo, cycling, and handball events. Lithuanians won 6 medals.

High jumper Vytautas Seliukas won gold.

Long jumper Živilė Šikšnelytė, swimmer Jūratė Ladavičiūtė (100 m freestyle), judokas Ieva Ruzgytė and Justas Drevinskas, and girls handball team coached by Alvyda Černiauskaitė and Sigitas Dambrauskas all won bronze. The handball team consisted of Laima Miliauskaitė, Vaida Navarskaitė, Rita Jasilionytė, Audronė Maroščikaitė, Jūratė Slučkaitė, Tatjana Kuzmič, Lina Talačkaitė, Vilma Kanišauskaitė, Jurgita Žiemelytė, Jovita Valiūtė, Aušra Baronaitė, and Jūratė Jarmalavičiūtė.
