Lithuania in the Olympic Festival

For the first time in history, the European Youth Winter Olympic Festival took place in two countries – Austria and Liechtenstein. Lithuania was represented by 12 athletes: 4 skiers, 4 biathletes, 3 Alpine skiers, and 1 figure skater.

Figure skater Aleksandra Golovkina was 14th and placed the highest among her teammates. Skier Neda Bukovskytė placed 37th in the sprint event. Among Alpine skiers Ilzė Cibulskaitė performed the best – she was 40th in the giant slalom event.

Biathlete Lukas Čepulis who carried the Lithuanian national flag during the Opening ceremony was 48th out of 80 participants in the 7.5 km sprint event and 46th in the 10 km pursuit race.
